No Place Like Earth - John Wyndham (Available $40.00)

One of the great masters of speculative fiction, John Wyndham was one of the first to leap from genre categorization to mainstream popularity. While his novels such as Day of the Triffids, The Midwich Cuckoos, and Chocky have been perpetually in print for most of the past fifty years and enjoyed adaptations for radio, film, and television; much of his short fiction has not received the same attention. This book (first in a series of John Wyndham "readers") presents an eclectic collection of stories that demonstrate the versatility of this remarkable writer. Many of the tales presented herein have previously been available only in scarce publications; one ("Blackmoil") has never been published in any form at all. An essential volume for the Wyndham collector or an excellent introduction for new readers.

Star Changes - Clark Ashton Smith (Available $45.00)

Clark Ashton Smith is without question the Poet Laureate of Weird Fiction. Ranked with H.P. Lovecraft as one of the greats of Weird Tales magazine, his collections of stories, (with the exception of Rendezvous in Averoigne) are long out-of-print, commanding steep prices on the secondary market. This collection gathers the best of his science fiction, much of which has long been unavailable in any form. Editors Scott Connors and Ron Hilger have, (whenever possible) worked from Smith's original manuscripts in order to finally make the author's preferred versions of these classic stories available.

Prelude To Armageddon - Cleve Cartmill (Available $40.00)

The name Cleve Cartmill is synonymous with the "Golden Age of Science Fiction". For over a decade beginning in 1941 Cartmill received equal billing with the most famous names of the era such as Heinlein, Simak, Hubbard, and de Camp. His novellas and novelettes were frequently the lead features of Astounding Science Fiction and Unknown Worlds. Best known today for the famous "atom bomb" story "Deadline", Cartmill's impressive oeuvre of fantasy and science fiction has appeared only sporadically in anthologies and with the exception of the paperback Space Scavenger, has never been collected in book form. This is the first of a projected five volume set that will collect all of Cleve Cartmill's fantastic fiction. From the fantasies such as "The Bargain" and "Age Cannot Wither" to the dystopian future show in "With Flaming Swords", this collection presents a selection showcasing the range of this unjustly neglected master of fantastic fiction.

My Rose & My Glove - Harvey Jacobs (Available $45.00)

Harvey Jacobs is the author of the novels Summer on a Mountain of Spices, The Juror, Beautiful Soup, and American Goliath. One of the most respected fantasists of the modern era, his early stories were collected in the highly sought after volume The Egg of the Glak and Other Stories in 1969. Called by many "the literary heir to Isaac Bashevis Singer", this collection of stories is far more than a volume of fantasy and SF tales, this is a cornerstone book for any serious collection of modern literature. Mr. Jacobs lives and works in New York and is presumably at work on more wonderful stories even as you read these notes.
